VPN Setup Guide

Get your subscription from the user panel, then connect with a client. This guide follows the actual setup process; skip any steps you have already completed.

Create an Account and Sign In

Open the account page below and follow the prompts to set a username and password. VPNRest does not require an email address; your username and password are what you will use to access the user panel. Check your username for typos before saving your password. We recommend storing it in your device’s password manager rather than a temporary chat or clipboard.

Once you are signed in to the user panel, check that it shows the account you just created. If you have signed in to another account in this browser before, verify which one is active before continuing. Your plan status, orders, and subscription links are all tied to the current account. When using another device, sign in to the same account to get your subscription.

There is no need to look for a server yet. Your account manages the service; the client establishes the connection. These are separate interfaces. Set up your account first, then choose a plan that suits your needs. If you see an error while creating an account or signing in, save the message and check the Help Center. For assistance, describe the issue through the support ticket page in the user panel. Do not include your password.

Choose a Plan and Place an Order

Open the plans section in the user panel and compare monthly subscriptions with data packages. Monthly subscriptions suit regular use, with data resetting each month on the activation date. Data packages are for usage-based needs: the data lasts until it is used up and never expires. Choose based on how often you use the service and how much data you need—not the number of devices, since VPNRest allows unlimited simultaneous connections.

Monthly subscriptions are ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, or ¥28/month for 500GB. Data packages are ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, or ¥658/3000GB. Not sure how much data you need? Check the full details on the plans and pricing page. A data package’s total allowance does not reset monthly.

Before proceeding, check the plan name, amount, and billing method on the order. Follow the instructions to pay with Alipay, WeChat Pay, or USDT. After payment, return to the user panel to check your order and plan status. If the external payment page shows that payment is complete but the panel has not updated, check your order history first rather than paying again.

Make sure your plan is active before getting your subscription. If you upgrade a monthly plan mid-cycle, the price difference is converted into remaining days; check the order in the panel for the exact result. VPNRest offers a 60-day money-back guarantee. See the refund policy for how to request a refund. This page covers the connection setup and does not replace the details in your order or terms.

Get Your Subscription from the Panel

Open your account overview and check whether your current plan is active, then find the subscription section. A subscription link is an address that lets a client retrieve server configurations—not a regular webpage or an installer. The client uses it to load the server list, so you do not need to enter server details one by one. If the configurations change, refresh them from the subscription update option.

If the panel offers an import option for your client, use it first. Your browser may ask whether to open the client; check the app name before allowing it. If the client is not installed yet, install it as described in the next section, then return to the account overview and import again. There is no need to keep clicking an option when no app is available to open it.

To import manually, copy the subscription link from the panel, then add it as a remote subscription in your client. Do not change any characters in the link or paste it into a search box. This example is only to show the link format and cannot be used to connect: https://example.com/sub?token=YOUR_TOKEN. Get your actual link only from the user panel after signing in.

Treat your subscription link as sensitive account information. Do not share it publicly, include it in screenshots, or post it in public forums. If you are unsure whether you copied the whole link, copy it again from the panel. To use the service on another device, sign in to the panel on that device to avoid sending the link through chat apps.

Import on Each Platform Client

Go to the downloads section of the user panel to get the VPNRest client and instructions for your system. Clients are available after sign-in, except for iOS, where the link is provided with an eligible plan. You must be signed in to get your subscription. Installing the client does not give you a working configuration—you still need to import and enable one.

Windows: Add a Remote Subscription

Choose the Windows client in the downloads section, follow the panel instructions to install it, and open it. Look for an option such as subscription management, configuration management, or add configuration, then choose import by link. Paste the subscription link you copied from the account overview. You can give it a name that is easy for you to recognize; save it and wait for the client to load the configuration.

Once it has loaded, you should see a server list or an added configuration. Select the configuration before opening the connection screen. If the configuration is there but the list is empty, check that you pasted the complete link and try updating the subscription. Do not create multiple configurations with the same name instead of checking. If the client requests system network permission, make sure the request is from the app you just installed, then follow the prompt.

macOS: Import and Select a Configuration

Choose the macOS client in the user panel, then install and open it as instructed. If you start the app through the panel’s import option, check the result in the client. To import manually, open the configuration or subscription section, add a remote configuration, and paste the link. After saving, check the server list and confirm that the subscription belongs to the account you are using.

On macOS, you may control the connection from the client’s main window or menu bar. After adding a configuration, make sure it is selected—not just saved in the list. If macOS asks for permission to add a network configuration on your first connection, check the app’s name and source before allowing it. When you are done, disconnect through the client rather than simply closing the window.

Android: Import and Allow the Network Connection

Get the Android client from the user panel and install it using the instructions provided. Open the app and find the subscription, configuration, or add option. Choose import from link, paste the subscription link, and save it. Once the client has loaded the configuration, check that it appears in the server list, then return to the connection screen and select it.

When you start the connection, Android may show a VPN connection request. This is the system authorization needed to establish a network connection. Check that the app is correct, then allow it as prompted. If the connection drops when you switch apps, check whether your system restricts the client’s background activity. Settings names vary by device, so follow the system instructions. There is no need to change every network setting at the outset; verify the connection with the defaults first.

iOS: Access the Download Link with an Eligible Plan

First, check that your plan is active in the user panel. Then open the iOS download section and get the client using the App Store link and instructions provided there. The iOS link is available with an eligible plan. If the panel says you do not have access, check that you are signed in to the correct account and verify your plan status. Do not look elsewhere for an alternative installation link.

After installation, return to the user panel and use the matching import option, or add the link in the client’s subscription or remote configuration section. Once imported, check the server list and select the configuration. The first time you enable it, iOS may ask permission to add a VPN configuration; follow the system prompt. Installation, import, and authorization are separate steps. Continue to connection testing after completing them.

Connect to a Server and Verify It Works

Return to the client’s connection screen and make sure you are using the configuration you just imported. Select a server and connect. If the client offers automatic server selection, you can enable it to avoid comparing servers manually. For services with specific regional requirements, choose an exit region that meets those requirements; do not rely only on whether a server name looks familiar.

Once the client shows that you are connected, open the website or app you want to use. Check that the page loads, then test the feature you need, such as signing in, streaming, or sending a request. A connection icon in the status bar only confirms that the client established a connection; it does not verify access to every service. Cached pages may also show outdated results, so refresh before checking.

If a website loads but an AI tool or streaming service still reports a regional issue, check whether the service’s supported regions, your account region, and your current exit region match. Avoid rapidly switching between regions and repeatedly signing in. Network connectivity and a platform’s account rules are separate issues; check access in the service itself. For details about streaming regions and servers, see the streaming access guide.

If you cannot connect at all, retrace the setup steps in order: check your plan status in the panel, confirm that the subscription updates, make sure the configuration is selected, verify that the client has system permission, then try another suitable server. Avoid running multiple tools that manage network traffic at the same time, as they may interfere with each other. Change one thing at a time so you can tell what affects the result.

After verifying the connection, keep the current configuration and update the subscription through the client when needed; you do not have to copy and import it again each time. Disconnect through the client when you are done. If the issue persists, look it up by symptom in the Help Center, or submit a support ticket in the user panel with your operating system, the client’s error message, and the step where the issue occurred. Before sharing a screenshot, hide your subscription link, password, and payment details to protect your account while preserving useful context.

Further Setup and Troubleshooting

Once everything works, there is no need to change settings just for the sake of it. To switch viewing regions, see the streaming access guide. If the connection has problems, start by checking the relevant symptoms in the Help Center.
